PSA: Scam Alert

PSA: Scam Alert

On May 25, 2023, a fellow local computer repair service provider advised us that they had received a notification that they had received a request from “yourpcrestorellc@gmail.com” to be listed as an owner of their Google business profile. It was later discovered that this same request was sent to multiple computer repair service providers in the area. The email address “yourpcrestorellc@gmail.com” is NOT associated with us–our only email address up until now has been “yourpcrestore@gmail.com”. Furthermore, our phone number has always been (336) 914-1777 and we do not have another phone number that we use for business.

When we attempted to send an email to the impersonating account, we discovered that it was not a valid email address. This means that 1) the email address never existed and was “spoofed” by a scammer attempting to take control of these Google business profiles and/or 2) the scammer deleted the account/Google disabled the account shortly after the requests were sent.

As of today, May 27, 2023, we have created a branded email address (info@yourpcrestore.com) for our customers to reach us at and for us to communicate with our customers from. If you receive any business communications from an email address other than this one or other email address ending in “@yourpcrestore.com”, know that it is NOT us! If you receive such an email from someone trying to impersonate our business, please take a few moments to report it to us and file a complaint at IC3.gov (using the “Other Cyber Crime” option).
